At the beginning of October, a professional event took place at the Villa Le Cercle in Deauville, bringing together 146 participants for a team building session. This corporate event was organised by the event agency Recevoir en Normandie and had a Fort Boyard theme. We spoke to Cathie-Anne Deshayes, co-director of the agency Recevoir en Normandie :
Can you introduce us to the event?
Today we are organising a professional event at the Villa Le Cercle in Deauville. 146 people are gathered to attend this team building event organised by our agency Recevoir en Normandie, which specialises in event organisation. For 2 hours, all the participants took part in 12 workshops on the theme of Fort Boyard.
They are divided into teams, each member having been drawn by lot thanks to coloured scarves. The teams rotate through all the workshops and compete in all the following games: memory game, sticks game, aquarium, mastermind type mystery ball game, Willy’s cooking workshop, weight game, nails game or nuts game. Each winning team gets a given number of points and the team with the most points at the end of the workshops wins the team building. All this in a good mood!
What is the objective of this team building?
The objective of this morning day is to create team cohesion between all employees and to play games both indoors and outdoors. The team meetings create an emulation allowing them to contribute to small challenges without too much physical difficulty. All the games were designed with the aim of working on reflection and opposing each other while maintaining a conviviality between the team members.
What spaces and configuration did you use at the Villa Le Cercle in Deauville?
We used the Salon Rotonde, the Salon Casino, the Salon Royal and the Salon Sur Cour. We arranged the spaces using wooden barrels, fishing nets, plants, candles, wooden crates, fake animals and spider webs. The different rooms are perfectly suited to the organisation of professional and private events: study days, conventions, seminars, gala evenings or even weddings.
What is your CSR commitment? How does your agency promote it?
Corporate Social Responsibility is a key element of our agency. We only work with local players, we buy from vendors and shopkeepers in Normandy and we work with people from the region. For example, for this corporate event, our Recevoir en Normandie team is present, we work with entertainers from Trouville-sur-Mer and local providers. Concerning the involvement of the workshops, we are focused on sustainable development, we avoid the use of paper and plastic, we use scarves for the team draws etc… We have also created CSR workshops: conferences on Slow Consumption, collaborative game around the climate, upcycling, plant candle workshop or creation of a mosaic. We also try to optimise transport as much as possible.
